Try and pack a picnic with blankets and set up shop on a beach. The Adobe resort offers a great walking trail that is along the coastline and leads to a nice sandy beach. This walking trail will take you roughly a mile from the resort.

Because the south Yachats coastline is pretty rocky, you’ll be able to see many tide pools along the coastal mountain headlands. These headlands jut out into the Pacific Ocean, so just make sure you’re watching for the tide.

If you’re looking for something a little challenging, the Oregon Coast Trail covers 384 miles of coastal hiking trails. There are 15 different hiking options to look forward too. Plus you’ll be able to experience the breathtaking ocean views and see all the different coastal towns.

Hiking is a great way to enjoy the changing of fall. Vibrant greens start to meld into burnt orange and sunshine yellow. Reds and purples also become prevalent along the coast. It’s definitely something to witness whether from under the canopy or along the shoreline.

Shining Bright along the Oregon Coast

A wonderful fall outing in Yachats, Oregon wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Heceta Head Lighthouse.

The Adobe Resort sits north of the lighthouse, about a 30-minute drive. You’ll be able to take the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway (US-101 S) to explore the Oregon Coast along the way.

The Pacific Coast made up of shallow waters and rocky headland that makes maneuvering the Pacific quite difficult. In 1894, the Heceta Head Lighthouse was introduced. Although in the beginning years keeping a lighthouse keeper in the isolated region of the Oregon Coast proved to be too much. In the 1930s the US Coast Guard took over and today, due to the advancement in electricity, it runs automatically.

Tours of the Keeper’s House are only during the summertime but Lighthouse Tours are offered year round. Restoration of the tower was completed in 2013. Programs for the guided tours offer information about the surrounding, outside area and the inside of the lighthouse tower.

Whether you choose to spend the day hiking, seeing a notable lighthouse, or enjoying the last few days of summer, the Adobe Resort has wonderful activities for the best fall getaway in Yachats, Oregon.
